Our farm & family

An old homeplace.
A new Christmas story.

Lilley Homeplace Pines is a small choose-and-cut Christmas tree farm in Gates County, North Carolina. Paige and Dylan started the farm in 2021 with their daughters, Annabelle and Clara.

Dylan’s great-great-grandparents, James Melvin Lilley and Josephine Parker, built the homeplace in 1883. The land has been a row crop farm in his family for seven generations. After marrying, Paige and Dylan remodeled the home, moved in, and planted their first 500 white pine seedlings.

Today, they’re continuing that agricultural history with a simple goal: helping families make magical Christmas memories.

The Christmas barn

The Christmas barn.

The Christmas barn is a part of the history of the homeplace. It housed livestock for 100+ years and is an excellent example of a North Carolina hand-hewn timber barn.

Along the barn walls, you’ll find a display of antique farm equipment, tools, and pieces of history that were used to build this farm.

Check out the barn first to grab a hand saw and receive instructions for tree harvesting.

In the Christmas barn, you’ll also find locally made art, thoughtful gifts, and festive finds to bring a little more Christmas home.

Locally Made Gifts

Pottery, jewelry, ornaments, candles and soaps, woodworking, children’s books, watercolor stationery, and Christmas decor.

The Perfectly Imperfect Christmas Tree

Paige’s book shares the heart of Lilley Homeplace Pines: helping families make magical Christmas memories. She initially wrote the book as a gift to her children, but it’s now become a part of the farm’s mission. Bring a little Christmas tree farm magic to story time with her watercolor illustrations and story.
